Welcome to Chunkis. We built this app to help you learn languages, and we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

2. Information We Collect

Account information

When you sign in with your email, Google, or Apple, we receive your name and email address. We use this solely to identify your account, personalize the experience, and send important transactional emails. We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.

Learning data

We store the cards, courses, all learning materials, and practice history you create in the app. This data is synced to our servers so it is available across your devices and is not lost if you reinstall the app.

Usage data

We collect basic technical information such as app version and device type to diagnose crashes and improve performance. We do not build advertising profiles.

AI requests

When you use AI-assisted features, the text you enter is forwarded to third-party AI providers (OpenAI) to generate a response. We store those inputs so you can review your request history in the app.

• Diagnose bugs and improve the reliability of the service.

Your learning data is stored both locally on your device (SQLite) and on our servers (PostgreSQL). Data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and learning history will be deleted within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

If you are in the European Economic Area, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Chunkis is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, notify you via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
